Have you ever wondered how the Chinese zodiac works?
The Chinese zodiac is a traditional way of counting years based on a twelve-year cycle, with each year represented by a different animal. These animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.
Each animal has its own unique traits, and people born in a particular year are thought to share some of the characteristics of that year’s animal. For example, someone born in the Year of the Dragon might be seen as brave and strong.
Sometimes, the names of the animals can vary. For example, the Year of the Pig is also known as the Year of the Boar. The Year of the Goat can sometimes be called the Year of the Sheep. But don’t worry, they all mean the same thing!

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ASTROLOGY AND THE CHINESE ZODIAC?
The Chinese zodiac and Western astrology are both ways to understand people’s personalities based on when they were born, but they are a bit different. The Chinese zodiac uses 12 animals, like dragons and tigers, and each animal represents a whole year in a repeating 12-year cycle based on the lunar calendar. Astrology uses 12 star signs, like Aries and Taurus, which are based on the sun’s position and follow the solar calendar, repeating every year.
So, basically, in the Chinese zodiac, your animal sign depends on the year you were born, while in Western astrology, your star sign depends on the exact date you were born. Isn’t that cool?
