Dezeen Showroom: Swedish-based furniture brand Blå Station has released a metal-framed chair with interchangeable parts that can be reconfigured to customise its functionality and design.
Described by the brand as “construction meets playfulness and changeability” the chair is sleek and minimalist in profile and features a fabric seat with a steel frame that comes in the choice of lacquered or chrome steel.
The flexible design features a range of modular parts that can be interchanged, including castor feet for increased manoeuvrability, which are available in zinc or black oxidised zinc.
The Able chair has a total height of 76 centimetres and a depth of 58 centimetres. The frame can be extended to accommodate a height of up to 83 centimetres.
Armrest options include lacquered or chrome steel, oak, ash, walnut or steel wrapped in black leather.
The chair seat is available in canvas in numerous colours or leather sourced from Swedish manufacturer Tärnsjö, which specialises in vegetable-tanned leather.
