A morning that begins with chocolate is destined for greatness! This easy chocolate chip muffin recipe is quick, simple and extra chocolatey, and they won’t come out dry!
One of my favorite things is having a cup of coffee while enjoying a fluffy chocolate chip muffin, with gooey chocolate, fresh from the oven. Your family will fight over these! {giggle} I highly recommend making a double batch and freezing some in an airtight container or a freezer bag. They can easily be reheated in the microwave.

Ingredients – Chocolate Chip Muffins
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/3 cup oil, vegetable or canola
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 cup chocolate chips, semi-sweet, milk or mini
Instructions To Make Chocolate Chip Muffins
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
STEP 2
Place liner in muffin tin.
STEP 3
Whisk together dry ingredients, reserve 1-2 tablespoons of dry mixture.
STEP 4
Pour oil into a 1 cup glass measuring cup.
STEP 5
Beat egg and add to oil.
STEP 6
Fill measuring cup to the 1 cup mark with milk.
STEP 7
Beat until well combined.
STEP 8
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until well combined, but don’t over mix.
STEP 9
Add chocolate chips to bowl and sprinkle with reserved dry mixture, toss to coat.
STEP 10
Gently fold chocolate chips into the batter.
STEP 11
Divide batter into muffin tin, fill 2/3 full.
STEP 12
Bake at 400 degrees F for 15-20 or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes:
Wanna mix it up? You can use milk chocolate chips which will make it a little sweeter. I like semi-sweet chocolate chips. But you could also use dark chocolate chips or white chocolate chips.
Semisweet chocolate chips is just the right sweetness for me, kind of the mid-grade sweet level. But milk and white will make your bakery-style chocolate chip muffins sweeter and semi sweet and dark will make them less so. It all depends on what you prefer.
