Baby Shark Facts For Kids
We love fun facts so we had to include some baby shark trivia! Ever wonder why the baby shark is so popular? Here are even more cool things to know about Baby Shark:
- Baby sharks are called pups.
- Pups must survive on their own from birth.
- Little sharks come into this world in many different ways. Some come from eggs like birds, some are hatched in eggs inside the momma shark and they are born, and in some species, baby sharks grow inside the momma shark, like humans, and they are born.
- In whichever way they are born, the baby sharks swim away from momma shark as fast as they can because big sharks can see them as prey! Many baby sharks do not survive their first year as they are eaten by big sharks.
- Sharks do not have any bones. They have a skeleton made of cartilage – the flexible connective tissue similar to what our external ears and nose are made of.
- Shark’s teeth are not very strong and are usually replaced every eight days. Some species of sharks shed about 30,000 to 40,000 teeth in their lifetime!
