LPGA: Nelly Korda stardom shines brighter than ever, stuns at Met Gala

Nelly Korda, who has taken the golfing world by storm in recent months with her historic play on the LPGA, drew the attention of many at the Met Gala in New York City.

She donned a stunning dress with red and green floral patterns while wearing elegant silver jewelry. Korda received an invite from Casey Wasserman to attend the Met Gala, her first time doing so.

Every year, some of the biggest celebrities and fashion icons from around the world descend upon the Upper East Side to attend the Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Known as “Fashion’s Biggest Night,” attendees often wear extravagant outfits and dresses that typically correlate with the gala’s annual theme, which, this year, revolved around the idea of Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

Luckily for Korda, the LPGA’s current schedule allowed her to attend this luxurious event, which has a ticket price of $75,000.

The LPGA had an off-week last week, but the tour will stage two events in New Jersey over the next couple of weeks. Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, New Jersey—14 miles west of Midtown Manhattan—will host the Cognizant Founders Cup this week.

Then, next week, Rose Zhang will look to defend her title at the Mizuho Americas Open at Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, which sits in the shadows of the skyscrapers of Lower Manhattan.

Should Korda go on to win at Upper Montclair, she would set a new LPGA Tour record by winning her sixth straight start.

But before she made history, she stunned the golfing world at the Met Gala, a testament to Korda’s increasing popularity in popular culture.
