Capcom is about to launch Resident Evil 7: Biohazard — the first game in the survival horror franchise’s shift to a first-person perspective — for Apple devices. It will be available in the Apple App Store on July 2nd for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max as well as iPads and Macs equipped with M-series chips. Resident Evil 7 originally launched on consoles in 2017.

Resident Evil 7 for iOS and macOS comes after the second game in the storyline, Resident Evil Village, released for the devices last October. The new iOS release will support touchscreen controls and a new Auto Fire feature, which Capcom says will give players “an approachable option to automatically fire weapons after aiming at enemies for a set period of time.” You can also play the game with PlayStation 5, Xbox, and other Apple-supported gaming controllers.

You don’t have to play through the whole game like this… connect a controller or continue progress on your Mac!

The DLCs for Resident Evil 7 are also coming to the Apple iterations:

The main game and Not A Hero story DLC, where Chris Redfield is on a mission to put the case to rest, will be released together as a bundle. Players can also dive deeper into Ethan Winters’ tale with the Gold Edition upgrade, which expands the game with a variety of optional DLC, including End of Zoe, Banned Footage Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, the 5-Coin Set, Survival Pack, and Madhouse difficulty mode.

Capcom is also developing the remake of Resident Evil 2 for iOS and macOS, which was originally launched on consoles in 2019. You can preorder Resident Evil 7 in the Apple App Store starting today, and one purchase is good for all your Apple devices. (There’s even support for cross-progression.) The 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4 also launched on Apple devices in November.
