Directions to make chessman banana pudding

Step 1

Cover the bottom of a 13×9 inch baking dish with a bag of Chessmen cookies.

Step 2

Layer the bananas on top of the cookies.

Step 3

Combine the milk and pudding mix. I use my largest mixing bowl for this because everything will be added to it in the end. Blend well using a handheld mixer.

This is my son’s favorite part!

Step 4

Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. We use a stand mixer for this just to be sure all the little bits of cream cheese are well blended.

our experience making chessman banana pudding

I still use my friend’s handwritten, now pudding-splattered, recipe each time I make it but I recently discovered that my top-secret-oh-so-awesome-secret-recipe is not really a secret recipe after all. It is a recipe by Paula Deen on Food Network!

Over the years I have had to make some minor adjustments to Paula’s original recipe simply because product manufacturers have changed the size of the product they sell. However, this recipe is so forgiving that you can make adjustments to it here and there and it still turns out incredible.

This is one of our favorite desserts to dollop with COOL WHIP.
