Not only is it healthier to cook in an Air Fryer, it also takes less time and effort until you are biting into a crispy hot dog, and toasty bun, topped with mustard, relish, ketchup, and all of your favorites!

This air fryer hot dog recipe is literally the easiest way to make hot dogs! Remember boiled hot dogs? {yuck!} This is NOT that. Air fryer hot dogs come out perfectly with a really quick cooking time. Your whole family will love the juicy hot dogs fresh from air frying with this super easy dinner or BBQ idea.

I also love that you can toast your hot dog buns in the air fryer! An air fryer toasted bun is way easier than toasting them on the grill (I usually burn them that way).

All you need to make Air Fryer hot dogs is an Air Fryer, hot dogs, and buns! That’s it!

  • Mustard
  • Pickle Relish 
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Cheese 

Instructions to Cook Hot Dogs in Air Fryer

Step 1

Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees F.

The first thing to do is to cut slits in the top of your hot dog.

Score the top of each hot dog with a knife to prevent them from bursting.

Next, place your scored hot dogs into the air fryer basket.

Place the hot dogs cut with little slits into the air fryer basket spread out a little so they are not touching each other.

Step 4

Cook for 5-6 minutes in the air fryer, shaking the basket half way through to cook evenly.

Didn’t eat all your air fryer hot dogs? That’s okay. Put then in some kind of airtight storage like a baggie or container and store them in the fridge. They should be good from about 3-5 days.

Cooked hot dogs freeze well and maintain their flavor for up to 4 months! Make sure you wrap them with freezer paper and then put them in a freezer bag to prevent freezer burn.

The answer is yes, you can cook frozen hot dogs in the air fryer! It might take a minute or two longer to cook than if they were cool or at room temperature, but they will cook. I would recommend at least microwaving them for about 30 seconds to defrost a little, first.
