U.S. Open: How to watch, streaming, preview, tee times, more

This week, the best players from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf will come together and compete in the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.

The North Carolina resort will host America’s national championship for the first time since 2014, but get used to seeing plenty of Pinehurst in the future. No. 2 will host the U.S. Open again in 2029, and three more times after that through 2047.

From the thrilling U.S. Open qualifiers that played their way in on Golf’s Longest Day to the top-ranked players in the world, Pinehurst No. 2 will have an incredibly strong field for the year’s third major.

Will there be a new major winner this week, or will Scottie Scheffler or Xander Schauffele take home their second of the year?

So many storylines await, but check out the one-stop shop for this year’s U.S. Open.

The U.S. Open Preview:

This year will mark Pinehurst No. 2’s fourth U.S. Open, and the field for this week is stacked.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is coming off his fifth overall win of 2024. He won the Memorial Tournament at Jack’s Place, giving him his first career win after the month of April.

Meanwhile, defending champion Wyndham Clark missed the cut at the Memorial and has not played well since the beginning of the season. He also missed the cut in the first two majors as well.

But plenty of other PGA Tour players, including Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Åberg, and Viktor Hovland, are trending in the right direction.

Of the 156 players in this field, 12 from LIV Golf will tee it up, three less than last year’s U.S. Open. Three advanced through qualifying, and 14 fell short, including Joaquin Niemann.

Bryson DeChambeau enters this major following a runner-up finish to Xander Schauffele at the PGA Championship. He could very win his second U.S. Open trophy. Pinehurst No. 2 fits his game well, and his momentum is heading in the right direction.

The third major of the year will surely bring some excitement, as Pinehurst No. 2 will be in all its glory, testing the best names in golf.
